The following video filmed before the Covid 19 pandemic shows the squalid conditions greyhounds are kept in at Croft Handy Kennels in Reigate, Surrey. These kennels are owned by the trainer Maria C B Collins who supplies racing greyhounds to Coral Brighton & Hove Greyhound Stadium, East Sussex, UK.

In June 2018 Maria C B Collins was awarded a share of £79,000 by the Greyhound Board of Great Britain (GBGB) trainers assistance fund for much-needed kennel improvements and roofing repairs. 
There is no evidence these improvements were made.

In December 2018 another trainer and kennel owner named Tony Taylor who also supplies racing greyhounds to Coral Brighton & Hove Greyhound Stadium was exposed on Sky News for the disgusting treatment and conditions his dogs were kept in, causing an uproar from the public.

It doesn't seem like any lessons have been learnt and the inhumane treatment of dogs by trainers in the greyhound racing industry continues.

Many attempts have been made to expose these kennels via the UK media and legal efforts. A journalist from a major newspaper wrote an article about the kennels and his editor had approved the feature. However, after waiting some considerable time it became apparent that the paper had done a U-turn. The UK media are reluctant to print articles exposing the industry.  Foul play, backhanders, shareholders, vested interests in the industry? Who knows?

As of August 2020, the exterior and partially exposed outdoor kennels are currently in the same condition as they were when this footage was originally filmed.

This video demonstrates the cruelty and neglect within the industry. Thousands of racing greyhounds up and down the country live miserable lives, both on and off the tracks, and little money is spent on welfare and boarding. Yet, Coral Brighton & Hove Greyhound Stadium have continued to use dogs supplied by trainers/kennels that have been exposed.
Profit over life once again. 

How many more trainers are keeping their greyhounds in conditions like this 24 hours a day?
 
It has to stop.
