Coral Brighton & Hove Stadium are acting irresponsibly. Coral has increased the number of races since Covid. Coral believe in profit over human and dogs' lives. Online bets have increased 88% since the pandemic began.
Greyhound racing should STOP as local sports have. Greyhound racing is not an elite sport. Greyhound racing isn't a key industry.
Dogs are racing in sub-zero temperatures too. This is wrong on so many levels and must STOP NOW.

Racing greyhounds are classified as livestock, not dogs. Racing greyhounds must be kept in licensed kennels. Where they are isolated for up to 23 hours a day. They do not live in loving homes. It's not a sport, It's animal abuse.
"Data collected from the Gambling Commission (the British body responsible for gambling regulation) showed that in March, online virtual sports betting increased by 88 per cent and online poker by 53 per cent compared to the same month in 2019."
"The pandemic hit a country that was already home to big gamblers. A House of Lords report titled “Gambling Harm – Time for Action” published in July 2020 found that half the adults in the UK gamble at least once a month. A third of a million of UK citizens are “problem” or “disordered” gamblers. It is estimated that for each problem gambler, six other people – a total of two million – are harmed by the breakup of families, crime, loss of employment, loss of homes and, ultimately, loss of life."
For years the industry has claimed the welfare of the dogs is paramount yet the British Greyhound Racing Fund has refused to help with the welfare of the dogs during the lockdown and since the pandemic began. Some trainers/kennels even put out statements asking for funds and food donations as they couldn't afford to feed their dogs. Greyhounds continue to be treated as commodities. They're of no use to the industry when they're not racing and winning.
The industry's desire to keep people gambling from home meant that following the government's advice to stay at home the industry begged the Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs (DEFRA) to allow them to continue racing the dogs behind closed doors during the lockdown and since the lockdown eased, putting their staff, kennel hands, vets, drivers and the general public they come into contact with at risk. As we all know, greyhound racing is not a key industry and most definitely does not need to operate during this pandemic. Despite this, the industry kept putting pressure on DEFRA to lift their temporary ban before it's safe to do so and dogs have been raced once again behind closed doors since the lockdown eased.
On Wednesday 19th August 2020 Coral Brighton & Hove Greyhound Stadium announced that on Thursday 10th September and Saturday 12th September 2020 the track will welcome the owners who supply dogs to the stadium, followed by opening to the public on Saturday 19th September 2020, claiming they'll offer a table only service to a reduced number of people who book in advance, with no admittance available on the door.
The UK media have shown that public houses have failed to maintain social distancing since they've re-opened so why would it be any different here?
Greyhound racing is far from a key industry during these times and there's no need for tracks to re-open except for generating revenue for themselves.
If you agree, consider complaining directly to the Hove track/contacts
